How to Research Your Articles in 3 Easy Ways – Use Them and Get Unique Articles All the Time

Researching an article is crucial to coming up with authoritative articles. You can’t just sit in the corner of your room and publish an article without quoting authoritative sources and recent trends in the industry.
It’s highly necessary to research an article even if you know what to write. Reading the opinions of others on the same topic will help you create a better blog post; it will help you write an insightful and in-depth article but beware of the sites you use for research.

Most of us use the search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing but it’s not every piece of information they bring up that is factual and legitimate. You have to have a way of checking multiple sources before using any fact. And whenever you’re in doubt, please leave out. That’s the number one law of journalism and it’ll help if you apply it to your blog posts. I’m sure you don’t want a reader screaming about the lies you have been publishing as blog posts. So, always double-check every fact or statistic you want to publish.
Some of us use Wikipedia to research and I use it too but remember that Wikipedia or any Wiki site is a user-generated content site and you cannot vouch for the factuality of any piece of information, even though they could be helpful at times.
So, how can you research articles and be sure of your facts?

    1) You can also take advantage of book sites like dummies.com, amazon.com and google books. When you’re researching an article, don’t just check google.com, try and check google books as the site contains many popular books, either with a preview or full text. You just need to check this out to appreciate its usefulness. Just like google books, amazon.com and dummies.com offer previews of each book they are selling. In the case of dummies.com, you can even download an excerpt chapter as well as the table of contents in pdf. These can be useful for research and even coming up with topics to write about on your blog as the T.O.C (table of content) can be a real eye-opener.

    2) You can take advantage of online libraries like the library of congress as well as public domain libraries like archive.org or digital library. These libraries contain thousands of books, images, videos and audios, which are online for free. Gone are the days when you have to visit a library physically to do your research, you can now research anything you want online and without paying a dime. However, there are some online libraries that require subscription like questia.com.

    3) You can also use Magazines and Books. Aside digitalized books; you can research your articles through physical books and magazines. We really don’t consider them while researching but I can confirm that they are veritable sources of information. Very recently, I was writing about the usefulness of consuming fruits and vegetables during quit smoking and I found a magazine which had a feature article on fruits and vegetables useful. Try this technique today; you’ll be surprised at how much it can contribute to making you a better writer.

    Writing Your Articles after Research
After research, write articles in your own words. Please, don’t plagiarize. Don’t do a lazy man’s work here. It may be painful now but it will definitely be worth your while, when you start earning with the site.
    • Submit your best quality work on your site
    • Let all your articles be unique; there mustn’t be a duplicate of your articles on any other site.
If you’re in the habit of using other peoples’ articles and laying claim to them on your blog, you might want to check Google’s recent algorithm update which aims to remove sites with plagiarized content from search results. This simply means your site won’t get traffic through the search engines, most especially, the Google search engine. So, it really pays to write your content in your own words but if you use a site for reference, just give the site a mention at the end of the article.
Generally, every article must have a headline, introduction, body and conclusion. Make sure you observe these while writing. Put your creativity to work and if you find you have a writer’s block, just quit writing to focus on another thing. You’ll come back refreshed to finish your article. When writing, don’t just publish afterwards. Let your article sit for a while so you can objectively return to it and edit it effectively. If possible, you can give another person to cross-check for grammatical errors and what have you.
